New Orleans' official cocktail — rye, Peychaud's bitters and absinthe in a cold rinsed glass. Perfection.
🧪 Ingredients
2 oz rye whiskey
1/4 oz simple syrup
3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
1 dash Angostura bitters
1/4 oz absinthe for rinse
1 lemon twist (express and discard)
1/4 oz simple syrup

1 lemon twist (express and discard)
🥄 Method
Chill a rocks glass with ice water and discard. Rinse glass with absinthe, swirl and discard excess. Stir rye, syrup and both bitters in mixing glass with ice 30 seconds. Strain into prepared glass. Express a lemon twist over the glass but do not add to the drink.
🍽 Serve & Garnish
Old-fashioned glass with no ice. Lemon peel expressed over the top but discarded.
